FIFA president Sepp Blatter is expected to be re-elected at the FIFA annual congress in Zurich on Friday, May 29, where 209 member associations will be in attendance.

Blatter's organization has been under fire since Wednesday this week however, after 14 people were indicted in connection with an investigation by the FBI into wire fraud, racketeering and money laundering in international football. Nine of them are members of FIFA.

A separate investigation has also been launched into corruption around the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Some critics have called on FIFA president Sepp Blatter to step down following the controversy.
