Back in Rome... Silvio Berlusconi has won Italy's parliamentary election by a comfortable margin. According to final results issued by the interior ministry, Berlusconi and his allies will have clear majorities in both houses of parliament. The strong mandate should make it easier for him to push through reforms but Berlusconi says difficult years lie ahead. As priorities he named the state controlled airline Alitalia and the garbage strike in Naples. He is likely to formally assume the post of prime minister next month.
