Sevim Can Eyüboglu and Hüseyin Aydin came to Germany in the late 1960s. Both worked for the Ford Motor Company in Cologne, where they formed a friendship. One returned to Turkey in the early 1980s, the other stayed on, started a family and made a career for himself.

Now, 40 years after Sevim Can Eyüboglu first set foot in Germany, he retraces the journey he made back then on a train from Istanbul to Germany to see his old friend again. Two very different lives stand side by side - two fates shared by many Turkish guest workers in Germany.
