Arjen Robben is out for the rest of the season after suffering a calf muscle tear in Tuesday's German Cup semifinal defeat to Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich confirmed on Wednesday.

The Dutch winger, who only lasted 16 minutes after replacing a limping Thiago, suffered an injury when running with the ball. Robben, who has scored 19 goals this season, was making his first appearance since tearing his abdominal muscle in the 2-0 home defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach last month. Thiago confirmed via Twitter that he had suffered no injury.

Robert Lewandowski, who was injured in extra-time after earlier having scored his 23rd goal in all competitions this season, has been diagnosed with a fractured upper jaw and a broken nose. The club's top goalscorer was involved in a heavy collision with Dortmund goalkeeper Mitch Langerak and was taken to hospital after the game. The club confirmed he suffered a concussion.

Bayern Munich were hoping that Arjen Robben would be fit to play in the Champions League semifinal against FC Barcelona, with the first leg on Wednesday, May 6. However the 31-year-old will now miss both legs of the tie and the Champions League final, if Bayern are to reach it.

Lewandowski could still play in the first leg against Barcelona, however it's likely that the 26-year-old would need to wear a protective mask in order to take the field.

Having already won the league title last weekend, Bayern Munich will face Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday in the Bundesliga.
