Budget Airline Announces Hanover Hub

Upstart German budget airline Hapag-Lloyd Express announced on Monday it would make Hanover its second German hub. The airline began flying earlier this month from the Cologne-Bonn Airport to destinations across Europe with fares as low as €19.95 ($21.41) one-way. The airline, operated by German travel industry giant TUI, said it had reached an agreement with the Hanover Airport to begin flights in April to cities including Rome and Nice. Initially, the airline will offer one flight a day to each destination. A spokesman said the company is negotiating to add Naples as a third destination.
