Bundesliga Matchday 20 in pictures
League leaders Bayern survive a scare as Cologne, Schalke and Leipzig joined Friday's victors Frankfurt in the win column. Leverkusen can reclaim second place with victory over Mainz on Sunday.
Going, going, going, gone
Roman Bürki scrambles backtowards his goalline in an attempt to stop Nils Petersen's long-range lob - in vain. The Freiburg captain's second goal of the game, after intercepting a sloppy pass from Nuri Sahin, put the visitors 2-1 up at the Westfalenstadion but Jeremy Toljan equalized late on to spare Dortmund's blushes.
The comeback kings
The Bundesliga league leaders were forced to come from behind after early goals from Mark Uth and Serge Gnabry put Hoffenheim two goals up inside quarter of an hour. However, goals from Robert Lewandowski (above), Jerome Boateng, Kingsley Coman and Arturo Vidal turned the tables in Bayern's favour as they moved onto 15 wins for the season.
Off the post
Jerome Gondorf was a star for Werder Bremen last week when he scored against Bayern Munich, but he couldn't repeat his scoring feats against Hertha Berlin on Saturday evening. He was agonizingly close though, hitting the bar twice, once in each half, as Bremen played Hertha to a scoreless draw.
Royal Brazilian
Naldo celebrated becoming the Bundesliga’s record Brazilian appearance maker by helping Schalke return to winning ways courtesy of a 2-0 win against Stuttgart. The 35-year-old's fifth goal of the season broke the deadlock before Amine Harit added a second from the spot.
Top corner!
Milos Jojic's stunning 25-yard free-kick looked to have put Cologne on course for a fourth-straight victory, but Augsburg had other ideas as they managed to snatch a point against the side rooted to the foot of the table. Caiuby grabbed the all-important equalizer 13 minutes from time as the visitors ended their goal drought, but neither side was able to produce a late winner.
New hope
Filip Kostic led the way for relegation-threatened Hamburg as they claimed a well-deserved point away at high-flying RB Leipzig in Bernd Hollerbach's first game in charge. Bruma gave the home side an early lead with a tidy back-post header, but Kostic levelled the scores, rounding Peter Gulasci on the half hour mark, restoring some hope in the relegation battle for the 4,000 travelling fans.
Bailey 04 Leverkusen!
Leon Bailey scored his eigth goal of the season when he gave Bayer Leverkusen the lead against Mainz on Sunday - and what a goal it was! The Jamaican winger cut inside onto his lethal left foot and dispatched an unstoppable strike into the top corner, giving goalkeeper Robin Zentner (above) absolutely no chance. The "Werkself" went on to win 2-0 and remain second.
Magic Malli
Yunus Malli produced the only real moment of quality in the Lower Saxony derby with this long-range effort which gave Wolfsburg a 1-0 win in Hannover. Malli's strike was a ray of sunlight in a dull, dull, derby. Which probably isn't even a derby.
Frankfurt thrive under floodlights
Eintracht Frankfurt moved second in the Bundesliga for a matter of 19 hours after picking up a fiercely-contested 2-0 win over fellow European hopefuls Gladbach. Kevin-Prince Boateng scored on the stroke of half-time and, after Thorgan Hazard missed a 78th-minute penalty, substitute Luka Jovic struck late to wrap up the win.
