CeBIT trade show for the digital world opens in Hanover

The world's largest HiTech fair Cebit got underway in Hanover on Monday. In recent years, Cebit has been plagued with falling exhibitors' and visitors' numbers. German chancellor Angela Merkel pledged her support for the industry, saying she'd like to make information technology a leading sector of the German economy.
