Daniel Craig to return as James Bond
August 16, 2017The wait is over: James Bond will return to the big screen again in 2019, once again played by British actor Daniel Craig.
After months of speculation, Craig revealed Tuesday on the US television program "The Late Show" that he will be taking up the role one last time.
"I think this is it. I just want to go out on a high note and I can't wait," he told host Stephen Colbert.
It will be his fifth time playing the martini-drinking M5 spy. He previously played Bond in "Casino Royale," "Quantum of Solace," "Skyfall" and "Spectre," following in the footsteps of fellow actors Sean Connery and Roger Moore.

For over a year, fans have been speculating as to whether Craig would return - and if not, who would fill the ladies' man's loafers. While some maintained English actor Idris Elba would be the ideal candidate for a 21st-century Bond, others suggested a "Jane Bond" might be more appropriate.

A preliminary release date for the 25th Bond movie in the franchise was listed on Eon Productions' website as November 8, 2019 in the US, with an earlier release in Britain and abroad.
