German carmaker Volkswagen (VW) has been accused of rigging emissions tests on its diesel-powered vehicles in the United States. The Environmental Protection Agency claims it equipped its cars with software to give false emissions data. Jos Dings, director of Transport and Environment, told DW he was not surprised by news of the scandal.
