The Front National is hoping to capitalize on its recent success in municipal elections, when it won the mayoral vote in a number of cities, including the town of Hayange in eastern France. In response, the municipality's sister cities of Arlon in Belgium and Diekirch in Luxembourg have cut official ties with Hayange. The new mayor isn’t bothered, though. His party isn’t just opposed to immigration and in favor of leaving the euro - it also condemns freedom of movement within the EU.
