German Delegation Arrives in Sochi

Some 30 German athletes landed in Sochi late on Tuesday, accompanied by 50 officials and attendants.

The team, led by Michael Vesper and Bernhard Schwank, was expected to hold its first press conference on Wednesday.

Germany has high hopes for the Winter Games in Russia after taking home 30 medals at the 2010 Vancouver games.

The team's arrival in the Olympic village was not the team's first: they were preceded nearly a week in advance by an advance group of representatives.
