German man marries fat cat

A man from eastern Germany has married his dying cat, the German daily Bild reported on Monday.
Uwe Mitzscherlich, a 39-year old postman, exchanged vows with his cat, Cecilia, who is obese and asthmatic, at a ceremony at his home near Dresden.
"Cecilia is such a trusting creature. We cuddle all the time and she has always slept in my bed," said Mitzscherlich, who does not have a human wife.
Because marrying an animal is illegal in Germany, Mitzscherlich paid a television actress 300 euros (400 dollars) to officiate the vows. The groom's twin brother Erik served as witness.
The 15-year old black and white cat is terminally ill, and Mitzsherlich wanted to marry her before she passed away.
The groom wore a top hat and wedding suit and the bride wore a white dress.
