Germany to send combat troops to Afghanistan - je 16.01.2008 18

With the Taliban resurgent in Afghanistan - the US government says it will deploy 32-hundred new troops to the country. The German Defence Ministry is also planning to dispatch 250 combat soldiers to northern Afghanistan. The German contingent would replace Norwegian troops leaving in July.
