Germany's constitutional court is hearing its biggest ever lawsuit against the government's data protection legislation

Germany’s Constitutional Court began hearing a case on a data collection law which was introduced by the government last year. It is the biggest case ever to come before the court - with 34 thousand people having filed complaints against the legislation. The goverment says the law is needed for security - but opponents say it violates their right to privacy.
