Germany's most popular tourist attractions 2016

The German National Tourist Board has asked foreign visitors to name their favorite sites. While Berlin is no longer part of the top 10, a contestant from the north of Germany has surprisingly received the most votes.

Since 2012 the German National Tourist Board (DZT) has asked foreign visitors on their www.germany.travel webpage about their favorite tourist attractions. Users can fill in the open question about their favorite travel destination themselves, making it possible to name any attraction in Germany. The result of the survey is combined as a top 100 ranking. From March until August 2016 more than 40,000 users from 66 countries participated in the voting.
