India's 'vegetarian nationalism' targets Muslims

Food has become political in India. Right-wing Hindu groups routinely force the closure of butcher shops during Hindu festivals, and "cow vigilantes" target the cattle trade, as part of a wider Hindu nationalist campaign against India's Muslim minority.
