Street vendors selling souvenirs from portable wooden stalls have always been common in Rome. They're usually strategically located at the city's most famous sites. At least, they were. The city's mayor recently decided they had to go. The street vendors are angry, not least of all because they have permits, and they've been protesting ever since. Angelo van Schaik reports.
