The International Beer Festival in Berlin is staged in the city’s Friedrichshain district on Karl-Marx-Allee. During the three day festival around 344 breweries from 87 countries will offer some 2400 beer specialties. Entrance is free.

The event highlights a different beer-producing region, nation or topic every year. This year the festival welcomes traditional breweries from North Rhein-Westfalia. National and international artists will entertain visitors on 19 stages. Some 800,000 visitors are expected.

The opening of the festival marks International Beer Day, which was founded in the US in 2007. It is now globally celebrated on the first Friday in August.
