Brazil team news:
There's no place in the starting line-up for Brazil's Adriano but midfielder Juninho Pernambucano will start for the Selecao. Ronaldinho will move into attack to partner Ronaldo, giving him a similar role to the one he performs with Barcelona. Juninho will complete a midfield which will feature Ze Roberto, a recovered Kaka and Gilberto Silva, who is the other change from the team that beat Ghana. Emerson fails to recover from a knee injury in time for the quarter-final. Striker Robinho has recovered from a minor thigh problem which kept him out of the Ghana match and will start on the bench.

France team news:
France field an unchanged formation from the side that beat Spain 3-1 in the second round, with Thierry Henry as lone striker backed up by a five-man midfield commanded by Zinedine Zidane and Patrick Vieira.

10 minutes to kick-off in Frankfurt
The warm ups are over. The players are getting their last instructions from their coaches and should be back on the field for the anthems soon.

The music kicks in with the national anthems -- not much longer now until we find out who will be playing Portugal in the semi-finals.

If the singing during the anthems is anything to judge by then the French fans here in Frankfurt slightly outnumber the Brazilians.

1. min.
There's the whistle
Brazil get the last quarter-final started.

2. min.
Zidane gets the first touches for France and wows the crowd with a quick move past two Brazilians. His long ball to Henry is too long and Brazil take over.

4. min.
Ronaldinho back heels the ball to himself and is knocked down before he can get a shot. Brazil have a free kick 30 yards out.

4. min.
Juninho sends the ball off the wall for a corner kick. Barthez is able to punch it out to midfield where Cafu collects.

6. min.
Juninho sends in a long free kick to Juan who is all alone in front of goal. His shot is high, and he's caught offsides -- the French defense wasn't going to let him get in that close.

7. min.
Makelele wonders what he did to deserve being called for a foul. Referee Luis Medina Cantalejo gives him a pat on the back but doesn't have any details.

9. min.
Ze Roberto finds a ball waiting for him at midfield and charges it down the gullet of the field into a waiting Vieira who clears easily.

10. min.
Moving right along
Roberto Carlos gets the ball after a corner kicks and fires right away. If this pace keeps up we'll be watching the kind of game that could be expected of a World Cup quarter-final.

11. min.
In an effort to win the ball back early, France are giving up quite a few dangerous free kicks between 25 and 35 meters out of the penalty area.

11. min.
Ronaldo gets his head on the cross, but his shot sails off the top of his and over the goal.

13. min.
Malouda has a chance at the other end, but his chest trap gets away from him and the ball is cleared. Lucio is hurt on the ground and holding his head. He headed off a rocket of a cross from Henry and needs a moment to collect himself.

14. min.
Makelele crosses in to Henry and the striker turns on a dime and fires at goal. Ze Roberto is able block it out of danger. France win a corner on their next attack.

15. min.

Ronaldinho is able to find Ronaldo headed to the corner, but he's off step with the ball and can't take it on the run. His cross into the box is just ahead of Kaka and France clear.

17. min.
Ronaldinho plays the same ball a second time to Kaka, but now the Brazilian hits the ball too hard and Kaka can't catch up with it.

18. min.
Hard to tell if Sangol miskicked a cross or wanted to shoot -- either way Dida blocks the ball down and tosses it out to Cafu.

19. min.
Barthez comes forward
The French keeper is able to get off his line fast enough to cut off a through ball to Ronaldo. Good instincts from the Frenchman.

20. min.
France practice their patience in the offensive third with a string of triangle basses and Roberto Carlos decides he's had enough and clears the ball high into the stands. Henry is called offsides after the throw-in and Brazil move the ball forward.

22. min.
Corner for France
Nothing but a Brazilian counter attack comes from it. The ball heads to Ronaldo, who isn't offsides but also isn't able to catch up with Kaka's pass.

25. min.
After submitting to the Brazilian pressure for the initial minutes of the match, France have come into the game and the quarter-final is turning out to be evenly fought with neither team willing to risk a mistake.

25. min.
Cafu booked for pulling Abidal's jersey

26. min.
The French midfielders keep trying to find Henry with a ball from midfield but the striker is closely covered by at least one, more often two, defenders.

27. min.
Zidane signals a cross and tries the shot himself, but it curves over the net and out of danger.

28. min.
Brazil clear for another corner, but it's cleared after hitting a French and Brazilian head in the penalty area.

30. min.
What a heel
Ronaldinho shows the value of the back of his foot with another back-heel to Ronaldo. The striker is closed down by three French white shirts before he even knows the ball is coming to him.

32. min.
Malouda sends in a corner kick that is a bit further out than Dida would have liked to go, but he's committed and gets enough of his knuckles on the ball to relieve the defense.

34. min.
France look like the better organized team, but Brazil are proving how dangerous they can be when the ball gets moving quickly, though the Brazil defense looks a bit shaky.

36. min.
Makelele finds Zidane running into the box, the captain tries out his magic on the double team of defenders but is caught up in his own feet and the ball is poked away.

38. min.
Roberto Carlos sends yet another ball over the line and earns the crowd's whistles.

39. min.
Malouda puts a head on Zidane's cross, but it goes over the bar and the Brazilian defense are spared.

41. min.

42. min.
Malouda crosses in
But the ball is cut off before it can arrive at Henry's waiting foot.

44. min.
Too much, too early
Zidane passes off to Gallas but his ball is too far ahead of Henry and the striker is left, again, running for nothing.

Juan book on Vieira break-away
Zidane beats three Brazilians and sends Vieira with a ball through the middle and Juan is booked for taking him out without a chance at the ball.

45+2. min.
Let's do that again
The ball is moved forward two yards as Henry kicked it right into the wall and Ronaldo was called for a hand ball. He's also booked for complaining.

45+3. min.
Into the locker room
This time Zidane sends it into the wall -- no idea if it hits a chest or an arm, but the referee watches it bounce out of the penalty area and blows the whistle on the first half.

45+3. min.
While not the best match of the Cup, Brazil and France have both had decent chances on goal in a half with end-to-end action. Brazil look a little shaky while France's Zidane has brought back the type of soccer that made him famous.

46. min.

No changes for either side.

Corner Brazil
Ronaldinho hits the ball in and it lands on the penalty spot between two Brazilians, neither of whom is able to redirect.

Brazil have come out of the locker room as the more aggressive team and are keeping the French in their own end. Barthez has had more to do in the last four minutes than in all of the first half.

52. min.
Back and forth in the midfield, Zidane and Kaka battle with each other for every second ball while their team mates try to get in a position to receive a pass.

Sagnol sees Henry in the box and the striker's heel is intended for Vieira, but Juan can get between the two Frenchmen to clear.

54. min.
Henry offsides
Vieira flicks on a free kick to Henry, who ends up being called offsides. Patrick would have been better off letting the ball fly over his head and to Henry's waiting feet in front of the open goal.

56. min.
Kaka is looking like the most dangerous Brazilian on the field. He's attacking with Ronaldo and defending with Cafu as needed.

57. min.
GOAL FOR FRANCE!!
Zidane sends in one of his many free kick and finds Henry waiting in the box unmarked and Henry gets his right foot on the ball, firing it past Dida who didn't have a chance from point-blank range.

60. min.
Barthez has to clear a horrible pass back and nearly turns it into an assist as Henry pokes the ball towards Dida's goal; he doesn't get enough power behind the ball to make it too dangerous though.

62. min.
Ribery beat Lucio in the bottom corner and crosses into the goal mouth. Juan nearly scores and own goal and Zidane is just a step too late to add one to the French lead.

The French want him to be rewarded with a card -- all except Ribery who collects a long kick in front of Dida's goal and tries to poke it past the sliding keeper. The game is really end-to-end now.

89. min.
Ronaldinho's shot goes inches over the crossbar.
