Pfister is Back
Good news for all Togo fans. Coach Otto Pfister is back with the team and will be sitting on the bench for the game against South Korea. With minutes to go before kick-off in Frankfurt the fans in the stadium are doing the Mexican wave in the basking sunshine on a glorious summer's day.

South Korea have a free kick on the left side but the effort comes to nothing. Goal kick.

Togo Attack
Togo make their first forays in the South Korean half but Korea are quick to respond and break up play.

Both teams are testing each other in midfield with little action up front.

Coubadja makes a run into the box but is stopped by strong Korean defending

Coubadja has Togo's first shot on goal in World Cup finals history but the ball goes high and wide and never troubles the keeper.

Togo take a quick free-kick trying to catch out the Korean defense but Adebayor is offside.

Coubadja makes World Cup history as he scores Togo's first ever goal in a World Cup finals. A beautiful goal from Coubadja struck low and hard across the box from the right hand side. Togo's best player of the afternoon has been rewarded for his work.

South Korea must come out fighting now after the shock of the goal.

Coach Otto Pfister is off the bench again calling on his men to score a second goal as South Korea push forward but are forced to take long range shots

The majority Korean support in Frankfurt has gone quiet as Togo keep control of the game.

Togo Defence Strong
The Togo defense is coping well with South Korea, stifling any attempt to bear down on goal. Another long range shot from South Korea but no problem for Agassa in the Togo goal.

Song Chung-Gug gets yellow and Yao Senaya Junior almost scores for Togo but the shot is well saved by Lee Woon Jae

As the match approaches half-time Korea push forward and are rewarded with a corner but it is poorly taken and floats high and out.

Tchangai clears for a corner in stoppage time as South Korea float the ball into the box but the strikers are having a poor day.

Half Time
Half-time in Frankfurt. A respectable display by the underdogs from Togo in their first ever game at a World Cup finals. They hold a slim one goal lead and had a number of chances to score. South Korea on the other hand were very disappointing with a lackluster performance. They will need to improve enormously in the second half to get back into this game.

South Korea kick-off the second half. Let's see if they can up their game and get back in this match

South Korea push forward and have a free-kick on the right hand side 35 meters out but the ball is cleared again.

Korea Shot
Ji-Sung Park has a shot at goal from the edge of the box but the ball flies high and over the bar

Coubadja has another great chance with a cracking shot on goal but it's saved by Lee Woon-Jae

The second half has got off to a good start with both teams on the attack but Togo look the more likely to score

Jean Paul Abalo sent off for a foul on the edge of the box

Lee Chun Soo scores from the free kick with a great curling effort into the top left of the goal

Korea are now firmly back in the game. Togo look shocked and South Korea are on the attack.

Togo down to ten men and are struggling to find their formation in defense. The calmness of the first half has gone somewhat and Korea are searching for their second. A much better game now!!!

South Korea's Cho Jae Jin almost scores with a flying header after a great cross by Ji Sung Park but Agassa makes a great save.

End to End
End to end stuff now as Salifou almost scores at the other end after confusion in the Korean box but his shot flies over the bar

Salifou has another chance but shoots over again

Park shoots from the edge of the box but his effort is smothered. The game is really hotting up now and is much much better than the first half.

South Korea have more possession in the second half but Togo remain dangerous and Adebayor fails to control a ball in the box

The game has slowed down a little as both teams take stock. Cho Jae Jin has a long range header from the edge of the box but can't find the target.

Goal
Wonderful goal from Jung Hwan Ahn from the edge of the box. The ball was deflected slightly past the keeper.

74. min.
South Korea have turned the game around against ten man Togo. Ahn has another cracking shot but Agassa saves between his legs at last minute.

76. min.
Togo have a mountain to climb now as South Korea are brimming with confidence with just a quarter of an hour to go. Korean fans have found their singing voices again and are on their feet urging on their team

Adebayor goes searching for the equalizer but is pulled back for a foul. Togo are down but not yet out.

80. min.
Ten minutes left and South Korea are slowing play down trying to hold on to their lead

Corner for Togo with five minutes remaining

Togo are on the attack but the final pass is lacking. Substitution. Salifou makes way for Aziawonou.

Togo have little time left now to break down the Korean defense. Korea look secure at the back and are now just waiting for the final whistle.

Last minute of the match now and Togo squander a great opportunity as a free kick sails high and out for a goal kick.

South Korea are pushing the ball around waiting the referee to blow for full-time. The Asians get a free-kick 35 meters out.

Korean Comeback
South Korea come back from a goal down to snatch victory in Frankfurt after goals by Ahn Jung-hwan and Lee Chun-soo. The game took a decisive turn after Jean Paul Abalo was sent off for Togo in the 53rd minute and Ahn scored from the resulting free-kick. Togo can be happy with their performance in their first ever World Cup game but will be hugely disappointed at the result. South Korea now have to prove what their worth when they take on much stiffer opposition in Switzerland and France.
