Donors from more than 65 countries and more than a dozen international organizations are meeting in Paris to raise funds for Afghanistan and discuss strategies for using the aid effectively. Afghan President Hamid Karzai says his government needs investment of 50 billion dollars to support basic needs such as agriculture and power generation. Germany has pledged 420 million euros by 2010.
