Merkel's new approach to Afghanistan - More soliders and more civilian reconstruction aid

Afghanistan's president Hamid Karzai is in Berlin today for talks with German chancellor Angela Merkel. The meeting comes ahead of an international conference in London on Thursday aimed at boosting security and development in Afghanistan. Germany will send hundreds more troops to the country as part of its revamped strategy.
