Gunmen kill Nigerian students

The early morning attack targeted the College of Agriculture in the town of Gujba in Yobe state, area military spokesman Lazarus Eli said.
He said the assault was carried out by "Boko Haram terrorists who went into the school and opened fire on students.”
Molima Idi Mato, provost of the state college, told the Associated Press news agency that as many as 50 students may have been killed in the attack, which began at about 1 a.m. local time. He said an exact death toll could not yet be given.
A medical source told the AFP news agency that 40 bodies had been brought to the Damaturu Specialist Hospital so far.
Gujba is about 30 kilometers (18 miles) from the state capital of Damaturu. The state has recently seen a series of brutal attacks targeting students, all blamed on Boko Haram.
Northeast Nigeria is in a military state of emergency because of an uprising by Boko Haram militants. The group has killed hundreds of civilians in their mission to establish an Islamic Nigerian state. Boko Haram, which means 'Western education is forbidden,' has repeatedly attacked schools during its insurgency.
