Protests in Greece against the introduction of further austerity measures

Michael BärMarch 5, 2010

The Greek Prime Minister has been meeting here in Berlin with Chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss his country's financial crisis. Earlier on Friday, the head of the Eurozone's finance ministers said he believed Greece's consolidation plan would be enough to pull the country out of debt. But the austerity measures haven't gone down well with the Greek public. Police in Athens have been using tear gas to disperse demonstrators proesting the new cuts in front of the parliament building.
