Constanze TressOctober 12, 2008

A Russian spacecraft has blasted off, carrying a replacement crew for the International Space Station. The US commander and Russian flight engineer will start up new life-support systems allowing the station's permanent crew to be increased to six. Travelling with them is an American space tourist, Richard Garriott. His father was himself a NASA astronaut, who flew to the Skylab space station in 1973.
