Right-wing Extremists Start Campaign to Sway Students

Officials from the German Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) have warned that right-wing extremist groups in the country are conducting a major offensive to influence young school-goers. Called "Project School Yard," experts say the right-wingers want to recruit young people by distributing a free CD called "Adaptation is cowardice. Songs from the Underground" in front of schools nation-wide. According to BfV officials in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, around 50,000 copies of the CD have already been produced. Though the authorities managed to block efforts to print the CD in two instances, they fear that the initiators of the campaign could distribute 250,000 samples among students in the coming days. The CD, which features famous far-right bands, is said to capitalize on the fears and frustrations of school-goers and is filled with Nazi propaganda and xenophobic messages.
