Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says the club have no “breaking point” in their resolve to keep star striker Robert Lewandowski.

The player's agent told Germany's "Spiegel" magazine on Saturday that the Bundesliga side had spoken to Real Madrid, leading to a number of rumors linking the Polish international with a move to the Spanish giants.

However, the Bayern boss has moved quickly to dispel any suggestion that the striker would be making a move this summer.

Speaking to "Kicker" magazine, Rummenigge said: “One thing I know for sure. Lewandowski will play at Bayern Munich in the next season. No one must give any thoughts about that.

“We will not sell Robert Lewandowski to another club, no matter what they will offer us. We have no breaking point with Robert."

Lewandowski has a contract until June 2019 but may make a move before then according to comments from the player himself, as well as one of his representatives, Cezary Kucharski, who confirmed that he had spoke to Madrid “several times.”

"Real are a big attraction for any footballer, obviously," the 27-year-old striker said on Saturday. "Sometimes you have to think about whether it makes sense to try a new challenge. When it comes to my career, I am the boss. I make the decisions.”
