The German consultancy firm SAP SI announced on Wednesday it had bought the Berlin-based IT services company SPM Technologies Deutschland GmbH for an undisclosed sum. The deal is subject to the approval of the Bundeskartellamt, Germany’s antitrust commission. SAP SI, which helps companies install business software, called the deal an important strategic move, as it would enable it to begin advising clients at an earlier stage in their IT planning. SPM is one of Germany’s leading providers of IT architecture consulting services, with clients such as Deutsche Post AG and Deutsche Telekom AG. SAP SI, which is controlled by Europe’s biggest software maker SAP, has said in the past it was aiming to make acquisitions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the United States.
