Berchtesgaden

The town of Berchtesgaden gave this region at the foot of the Alps its name. In the center of town you'll find a former monastery which the Bavarian royal family turned into a hunting lodge in 1818. Today it serves as a museum.

Panoramic view of the Alps

The Rossfeld Panoramic Road leads up to a height of 1,600 meters (5,249 ft.). You have to pay a toll but it's worth it as you will be rewarded with fabulous views on all sides over the Berchtesgadener Land region and the Austrian Alps. Click on the video and see for yourself!

On the ski slopes

The Panoramic Road also includes a skiing area. It is the most likely to have snow in the region and is particularly well suited for families.
