The German government says it is willing to grant asylum to Iraqi refugees if other EU nations make a similar pledge. Interior Minister, Wolfgang Schäuble, wants Iraqi Christians in particular to be allowed into Europe. Since the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, around half of Iraq's 1.5 million Christians have fled the country. +++SYN-MAZ+++
