The US and the EU say Israel should further ease its blockade of the Gaza strip to permit entry of construction materials. As part of the diplomatic group known as the Quartet, they're putting pressure on Israel to expand its list of allowed imports. US officials said MOnday that rebuilding infrastructure was crucial to improving day to day life in Gaza. Israel said over the weekend that it would continue to ban commodities it considers war materials.
