TT EU summit in Brussels: Barroso and his search for a second term as Commission president

Welcome back. The EU summit in Brussels continues today with a final push to convince Irish voters to back the controversial and stalled Lisbon Treaty. The financial oversight of the banking system in the aftermath of massive bank bailouts is also on the agenda. On the first day, EU leaders agreed unanimously to back Commission President José Manuel Barroso for a second term. But his job is still not guaranteed.
