Turkey blocks decades-old mothers' vigil for loved ones

In Turkey, dozens of people have for years wanted to know what happened to some of their loved ones who disappeared during Turkey's military coup-era of the 1980s and the Kurdish-Turkish conflict of the '90s. The Saturday Mothers gathered a week ago for the 700th Saturday in Istanbul, but police told them their protest was banned, before firing tear gas and plastic pellets to disperse the crowd.
