Germany is home to countless parks and public gardens, but not all of them are UNESCO World Heritage sites. Ones that have made on to the list include the Prussian palaces and gardens in Potsdam and Berlin - many of which were designed by Peter Joseph Lenné - as well as the Muskau Park on the German-Polish border and the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Realm, created in the late 18th century under the regency of Duke Leopold III of Anhalt-Dessau.
