US President Obama has committed an 30 thousand additional troops for Afghanistan - a move that has been welcomed by the Afghan government. But neighbouring Pakistan has told Washington to ensure there is no adverse fallout of the troop surge on its country. Obama has also announced training Afghan forces will be a priority and that US troops will start pulling out of Afghanistan in mid 2011.
