Three young female journalists from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Indian-administered Kashmir have been in Germany to participate in a unique project: to discuss, debate and write about the situation facing women in their countries and in Germany. Tamana Jamily, Ayesha Hasan and Benish Ali Bhat were sponsored by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. Their work has been now been compiled and published in the form of an online dossier entitled "Women's World" organised by the Deutsche Welle in Bonn, Germany's international broadcaster under the auspices of its South Asia Department.

Jamily, Hasan and Bhat researched controversial  issues like maternal mortality, the domestic debate on headscarves, domestic violence against women, illegal abortions and healthcare and the role of women entrepreneurs. They drew comparisons with the situation facing women here and in their respective countries. They hope that young women in their countries will find their work stimulating and instructive and also send as much feedback as possible. The project was organised by Grahame Lucas, Head of South Asia and edited by Manasi Gopalakrishnan.
