Chileans take a stand against lithium mining

With demand for electric cars and batteries on the rise, the global demand for lithium is expected to triple in ten years. With some of the largest reserves in the world, Chile is at the forefront of the lithium boom. But mining companies are increasingly coming into conflict with indigenous communities who are worried about the future of their ecosystems and ancestral lands.
