World in Progress: The 'New Urban Agenda'

More than half the world's population lives in cities and their numbers are increasing rapidly. The 'New Urban Agenda' that is set to be adopted at the Habitat III conference in Quito next week is supposed to provide a roadmap for urban development. Monika Zimmermann, Deputy Secretary General of ICLEI, attends the conference and explains why cities are crucial for sustainable development.
