While Israel has been a safe haven for Jews fleeing persecution since its creation in 1948, it has struggled with the more recent arrival of thousands of African migrants seeking asylum or work. In a bid to raise awareness about the plight of this non-Jewish migrant community, a local rights group has assembled a mixed team of asylum seekers and Israelis to run in the Tel Aviv Night Run.
