Colonia Dignidad is an agricultural community in Chile founded in 1961 by Paul Schäfer, a charismatic evangelical German preacher who exploited his position to brainwash, torture and abuse his flock. Today Schäfer is gone but people who lived through his regime of terror still live in what is now called Villa Baviera.
